Maldives Visa Information

• Maldives is a SAARC Country and has a special agreement allowing easy travel for Indian Nationals.
• No pre-arrival visa is required for entry.
• Visa is issued on arrival at Male Airport for a stay of up to 30 days.
• Visa is gratis (free of charge).
• The traveler must hold:
  • A passport valid for at least 6 months.
  • Confirmed onward/return air ticket.
  • Onward country visa (if applicable).
  • Sufficient funds: US $100 + $50 per day OR confirmed hotel/resort reservation.
• Caution: Full 30-day visa is not guaranteed and lies at the discretion of Immigration (may issue less than 30 days).
• Employment is strictly prohibited under this category.
• A tourist visa may be extended:
  • Application must be made before expiry of current visa at Immigration Head Office during official hours.
  • Immigration will reassess financial position before granting extension.
  • Maximum extension: up to a total of 90 days (30 days free + 60 days chargeable).
  • Visa fee: Rufiyaa 750 for full/part extension beyond 30 days.
  • No visa fee if the extension does not exceed 30 days in total (including on-arrival days).
• Overstay: Foreigners staying beyond the approved duration may be penalized/deported.
• Transit Passengers: Must leave within 24 hours of arrival.
